Celebrity fashion designer Toyin Lawani has fired back at accusations that she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) after a user linked her to the very trend she highlighted.
The drama began when Lawani shared a post observing that many Lagos ladies now look alike. In the comments, a user wrote that Lawani herself “too do nyash, no different from them,” implying the designer had also enhanced her figure and was no exception to the lookalike wave.
Lawani responded directly, tagging the commenter and offering her “one min of fame.” She stressed that she does not seek trouble but will address it when provoked. “Don’t you think it’s wrong for you to go on blogs and write things that you are not sure about people,” she asked.

The designer made clear she has never hidden any surgery she has undergone, sharing them openly so others can learn. These include breast implants 17 years ago after lumps that disfigured her breast were removed for health reasons, and liposuction after having two children, which naturally created a smaller waist and fuller backside. Even after her third child left her body intact, critics still claimed she had work done.
“I’m not even against bbl at all,” she said, “but do you know what it entails?” She added that if she ever chooses a BBL, she will post it “gracefully” because it is her money and her body. Calling the claims defamation, she warned the commenter to think twice next time and asked, “Abi you get 500million?”
