Digital creator and media personality Toyosi Etim-Effiong has hit back at social media users who pressure her to share intimate videos of herself and her husband, the celebrated Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong.
Toyosi, who is known for her candid and often humorous approach to lifestyle content, expressed her frustration over the growing expectation for celebrity couples to perform their romance for the digital “gallery.” In a pointed statement, she questioned the rationale behind the demand for “kissing videos,” suggesting that such performative displays do not align with her professional identity or her financial goals.
The media executive, who has built a reputable brand around storytelling and production, made it clear that her marriage is not a scripted drama designed for public consumption. She challenged the notion that personal intimacy should be leveraged for engagement or social media clout-chasing.

“Is it that these people want me to be posting kissing videos of me and Daniel on Instagram? Am I an actress? Does it generate income for me?” she asked, highlighting the absurdity of the pressure.
However, Toyosi explained that while her husband’s career frequently places him in the spotlight as a leading man in Nigerian cinema, she does not feel obligated to mirror that theatricality in their private life. For her, maintaining a boundary between her genuine relationship and her online presence is essential for her peace of mind.
The mother of three and founder of That Good Media further noted that she prioritises content that adds value or aligns with her business interests. By asking if such videos “generate income,” she subtly critiqued the modern “influencer” culture where every private moment is monetised, reaffirming her stance on keeping her most intimate moments away from the camera lens.
