
Promise Dikko, the reigning Miss University of Jos, has taken to social media to mourn the death of her fiancé, who was killed by bandits.
The beauty queen, via her Facebook, shared the devastating news on Thursday, June 11, 2026, disclosing that they had made preparations and bookings for their wedding, scheduled for December 27, 2026.

Captioning the post, she wrote: “Rip my hero. I kept this photo to post it when it close to wedding date, 27th December was supposed to be the date. We have made prep and bookings. But you left me. Bandit k!lled you for me. Nigeria happened to me. Rest easy my hero.”
The country has continued to witness an increase in cases of banditry, kidnapping and abductions across several regions, with the most recent being the abducted students and teachers from Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The abduction occurred on May 15, 2026, when armed gunmen launched coordinated attacks on three schools in the Oriire Local Government Area: Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School in Ahoro-Esin-Ile (Esiele), and L.A. Primary School.
