Two Nollywood crew members, Godstime Imeh, a lighting director and CEO of GeeTee Light, and Walter Odediran, a video director also known as Director Carrinqton were found dead in a parked car in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

The Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba confirmed the development, disclosing that it has begun investigating the mysterious deaths of the duo who were found on the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, inside tinted Nissan at a filming location said to be used for a movie directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate Boma.

According to sources, the two men had arrived the location earlier and set up lighting for a medical scene planned at Evercare Hospital. After finishing the setup by mid-morning, they decided to rest in Imeh’s car while waiting for more instructions.

However, the men who were seen relaxing in the car with air conditioning on, were later found dead and unresponsive, after filming ended.

Kola Odediran, Walter’s older brother, said that the incident was both shocking and painful.

“Walter and I were like twin brothers. He was 36 and the last-born of our family. He was very close to Godstime Imeh. They worked hand-in-hand on movie productions,” he said.

Recounting the events of that day, he added, “On Saturday, February 7, they had a medical scene to shoot at Evercare Hospital. Around 10 a.m., they decided to take a break inside GeeTee’s car. Food was delivered to them; that was the last time anyone saw them alive. Around 7 or 8 p.m., after shooting wrapped, they were found inside the car.

“My brother was seated upright with foam at his mouth, while GeeTee was slumped, with blood from his nose, eyes, and mouth. It appeared whatever happened occurred suddenly.”

Odediran also criticised the way the police first responded to the case.

“The case was first reported at Maroko Police Station but was not treated urgently. We had to escalate it to SCID, Yaba, where it was documented as an unnatural death requiring investigation and autopsy. Everybody was invited, the producer, Boma, and the boy who served the food,” he said.

Police sources said they have questioned the film producer, the food vendor, the crew member who brought the meal, and the hospital management.

The food vendor is reportedly in custody while the investigation continues.

Forensic tests are ongoing.

Investigators are said to be looking at several possibilities, such as something the men may have eaten, environmental factors, and mechanical problems.

Sources said authorities are also checking if heavy-duty industrial generators above the parking area could have released fumes or caused other hazards that contributed to the deaths.

Forensic work is ongoing, including autopsies, toxicology tests, checking the car, and reviewing CCTV footage.

Police said they are keeping all options open until lab results come in.

Odediran said the loss has been devastating for the family.

“It has been very difficult for our family. My mother is devastated. He was the last-born. We were just two male children. This has been extremely painful for us,” he said.
