Uche Maduagwu, the Nollywood actor has gone on social media to tender an open apology to veteran actress, Rita Edochie, after previously speaking against her.
Maduagwu, who is well known for his controversial posts on Instagram, took to his page to admit that he was wrong in the way he addressed the senior actress in the past.
In his words, the actor confessed that everyone makes mistakes, adding that the most important thing is for a person to recognise their errors and be humble enough to apologise.
Sharing a photo of Rita Edochie, Uche wrote, “Aunty Rita, I’m sorry for all I said about you. Even King Solomon, with all the wisdom God gave him, still made mistakes. What makes us strong is the ability to know we made mistakes and to be humble enough to ask for forgiveness.”
He went further to describe Rita as a “rare gem” in the Edochie family. According to him, she is a “shining light” who spreads love and positivity wherever she goes.

Uche added, “Every family needs a shining light like you. You are a shining light that makes darkness disappear. You have a good heart. No darkness can stay where you are, because you are a light in that family.”
The actor, who has in the past clashed with several Nollywood figures over his outspoken lifestyle, stressed that he holds Rita Edochie in high regard. He also posted a picture of the actress with the inscription: “Aunty Rita, you are a great light wey dey make darkness run kitikata.”
Rita Edochie, who is married into the popular Edochie family, has enjoyed decades of success in the Nigerian movie industry and is respected for her roles in traditional and family-themed movies.
