Ultimate Love Reality TV Show to End Early Over Coronavirus Threats

Multi Choice Nigeria, organisers of Ultimate Love has announced that the reality TV show will end a week earlier due to the “growing concerns of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.”

A statement was released on Tuesday to this effect on the official Twitter account of the reality Tv show.

Initially, the Ultimate Love Reality TV Show was scheduled to come to an end after eight weeks, which makes the official end date of the love reality show to be April 5, 2020.

However, due to the current global crisis, the love reality TV show “will now end on Sunday, 29 March, 2020.”

Part of the statement released by the organisers reads:

“As a result the current round of voting will end tonight, Tuesday, 24, March, at 10pm WAT. And the result will be announced on Wednesday, 25 March, at 7.00pm WAT.

“The finale voting will therefore open on Wednesday, 25 March, at 10.00pm WAT. And close on Friday, 27 March at 9pm WAT.”

In the show, where couples are paired together for a number of weeks in the love pad and their activities filmed for a daily TV program, viewers have gotten spoils of love.

Participants entered the house before the first coronavirus cases were being reported in Wuhan, China, before it became a pandemic.

Nigeria currently has 40 confirmed cases of the novel COVID-19 across six states with one death recorded.

Nomination and Eviction

Jay and Nkechi (Jaykech) are the last and fourth couple to be evicted from the ongoing reality TV show; after spending five weeks in the house. Jaykech checked out of the love pad on Sunday with the box they were checked out with. It contained a whopping N500,000.

Meanwhile, there are seven couples (love guests) left in the love pad at the moment. Five couples were nominated for possible check-out during the live nomination show on Sunday.

However, the couples as announced by the show’s hosts, Dakore Egbuson-Akande and Oluwaseun Olaniyan, are DoubleChris (Chris and Chris Ville), Iykeresa (Iyke and Theresa), Obiebi (Obichukwu and Ebiteinye), PreshDavid (Presh Talker) and Roksie (Rosie and Kachi). Read Here.
