Victoria Kimani Expresses Displeasure At Lack Of Kenyan Representation On Beyonce’s “Lion King” Album

Kenyan singer, Victoria Kimani, has described the absence of Kenyan artistes on Beyonce’s album as “Depressing”.

Eelive.ng recalls that Beyonce unveiled the track list of her new album titled “The Lion King: The Gift” on Tuesday; the album features Nigerian pop stars like Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Tekno, among others.

Victoria wrote via her Twitter handle: “As much as we celebrate with our fellow Africans, the obvious exclusion of Kenyans/East Africans on this soundtrack is depressing.

“The movie was based on Kenya. That’s fine. Our Queen forgot about us. We were not represented in her love letter to us. It hurts. That’s all.

“Ya’ll could at least had Lupita or Barack on the outro since we don’t have artists in East Africa. Rafiki, Simba and Nala are Kenyan.

“’The Gift’ is the musical accompaniment to the new Disney movie “The Lion King”
