Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has reached out to her colleague Omotunde Ogundimu with substantial financial assistance for her ongoing cervical cancer treatment.
The veteran actress shared her battles and frustration with colleague Abiola Adebayo and noted that doctors diagnosed her in 2024.
In emotional videos and posts, Ogundimu detailed the severe pain, treatment side effects, and financial strain of the disease.
Her children had exhausted their resources supporting her care, prompting heartfelt appeals for help and prayers for healing.

Shortly after one of these videos gained widespread attention, Funke Akindele contacted Ogundimu on the morning of Thursday, September 10, 2026. According to the veteran actress, the call came as a complete surprise.
“The first call I got this morning was from Funke. Was really surprised cos I wasn’t expecting it,” Ogundimu wrote in a social media post.
She added that Akindele provided a “huge amount of money” toward her cancer treatment, expressing overwhelming gratitude with the words: “She gave me huge amount of money ni o haaaaa mi o expect ẹ oooooooo.”
Omotunde further prayed for Akindele saying: “May God continue to bless Iya Ibeji” and asking fans to join in prayers for the actress’s continued strength and growth.
