Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa has decided to forgive TikTok content creator, Olaoluwa Segun, known on social media as unofficial_olas001, after he falsely accused her of being HIV positive.
Recall that, the actress had vowed to take legal action when Olaoluwa mentioned her name among five Nigerian actors he claimed were living with HIV.
The actress had in 2019 openly declared that she was HIV negative and even encouraged her fans to go for regular tests.
Speaking in a recent video, Amusa explained why she chose to let the matter go. According to her, after meeting the young man’s family and learning about his personal struggles, she decided that forgiveness was the best path.

“I did promise to make him a scapegoat, which I did. But along the line, I realised he just lost his mum. I also discovered he is only a 27-year-old boy. I met some of his relatives, including his uncle, and that gave me another perspective,” she said.
Amusa also posted a clip of Olaoluwa’s public apology on her social media page with the caption: “Case closed. To err is human, to forgive is divine. Making mistakes is a natural part of being human. Let us be guided.”
On his part, Olaoluwa admitted that the incident had humbled him. He said his two-day detention over the false allegation was one of the hardest experiences of his life, second only to the pain of losing his mother.
