Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode, popularly known as Toyo Baby from the hit series Jenifa’s Diary, has once again addressed her long-standing stance against kissing scenes in films, describing it as a deliberate personal choice rooted in her values.
In a recent viral video clip circulating on social media, the actress stated clearly: “I don’t kiss in movies. I’m not the best Christian but it’s just my personal consecration. I know some directors have beef with me because of it but I’m not going to change.”

Recall that in 2021, the actress on several interviews, explained stepping back from acting roles due to repeated requests for kissing scenes during auditions. She emphasized that she would only kiss her husband, saying: “I’m never going to kiss in a movie. I’m only going to kiss my husband… God deals with us differently and we all have our different relationships with God. I don’t think I should kiss anybody but my husband, especially on set—it’s not like you are doing it just once; you will do close-up shots, medium shots, long shots, continuation shots… why am I kissing?”
Toyo Baby as widely called, has been selective with roles, often avoiding projects requiring intimate scenes. She clarified she isn’t judging others saying: “you can kiss if you want to, it doesn’t stop you from being who you are, but that’s just me”, and noted the discomfort and frustration from auditions pushing such demands.
