Nigerian movie actress, Sunshine Rosman has raised serious concerns over the increasing cases of sexual harassment against women in Lagos State, calling on authorities to take urgent action to protect residents.
The Nollywood actress, in a strongly worded statement shared online, lamented in a video that many women can no longer move freely in public spaces without facing inappropriate behaviour from strangers.
According to her, the situation has become alarming, especially in busy areas across the state where women are constantly subjected to harassment and unwanted touching.

Rosman expressed disappointment over what she described as the government’s silence on the issue, insisting that not enough is being done to address the growing insecurity faced by women daily.
“Sexual harassment of ladies is very bad in Lagos State. You can’t even step out on the streets without being harassed or touched inappropriately. Till today, nothing has been done to prevent this by the Lagos State Government. Women are not safe anymore,” she stated.

Several users supported the actress’s claims, arguing that women in major cities often endure different forms of abuse, especially in crowded markets, bus stops and public transport areas. Others called for increased security presence, stricter penalties for offenders and more awareness campaigns to protect women and girls.
