
Nigerian actress and media personality Lillian Afegbai has sparked online conversations following her bold remarks about recognition and validation, as well as her recent performance in the movie ‘To Kill A Monkey.

Afegbai, known for her outspoken personality and strong screen presence, stated that she prefers to believe that everything happens for a reason, adding that she does not require award nominations as a form of validation. She went on to say that her, the true measure of success lies in impact and audience reception rather than formal accolades.

Afegbai further emphasised that her character, IDIA, from TKAM, stood out significantly, as she claimed that no other role trended as much as hers during the past year. She suggested that the level of attention and engagement her performance generated was a clear indication of its success.
In a strongly worded remark, she wrote:
“I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason. I don’t need a nomination for validation. The truth is clear nobody trended like IDIA from TKAM last year. Her acting was 💯💯
