Former Big Brother Naija housemate cum comedian Aderombi Adedayo Martins, better known as DeeOne, has emerged as the House of Assembly candidate of the BOOT Party for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency 1 after winning the party’s primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
DeeOne, upon his emergence, thanked the BOOT Party for entrusting him with the mandate, describing his victory as a vote of confidence in his ability to represent the constituency.
Sharing the post, he wrote: “I want to thank my party, BOOT party for the confidence in voting for me to emerge the winner of the primary election for Ibeju Lekki Constituency 1.”
The comedian assured residents of Ibeju-Lekki Constituency 1 that he would serve with humility if elected to the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2027.

He said his ambition was to represent the people’s interests and not to dominate or lord over constituents.
“To Ibeju Lekki Constituency 1, come 2027 by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss,” he said.
DeeOne’s emergence adds to the growing list of entertainers venturing into politics as preparations for the 2027 general elections gradually intensify across the country.
Barely a week earlier, Nollywood actress and film producer Esther Okereke emerged as the presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) after defeating other aspirants at the party’s primary in Abuja.
Her victory placed her among the few women to secure a presidential ticket in Nigeria’s political history, as opposition parties continue early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
She is expected to join other opposition candidates seeking to challenge President Bola Tinubu in what is shaping up to be a competitive election cycle.
