5 Random Facts About Lupita Nyong’o

 

Lupita Nyong’o has appeared in numerous movies over the years, including “Star Wars” and “Black Panther” even winning an Oscar for the 2013 movie “12 Years a Slave”. Most recently, she starred in a lead role in the Jordan Peele thriller “Us”.

A critic who had the pleasure of seeing the movie “Us” at one its premieres has announced the movie as stuff made for nightmares. Imagine our sweet Lupita in a nightmarish production.

Here are a few things you might not have known that will help you remember the human side of Lupita.

  1. She was born in Mexico because her father was a teacher there but she grew up in Kenya.
  2. She returned to Mexico at the age of 16 to learn Spanish before leaving to attend college in the US
  3. She stepped into international spotlight after she won an Academy Award for best supporting actress
  4. She speaks more than English and Spanish – she speaks Swahili and Luo as well.
  5. She is currently working on the adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s “Americanah” into a TV series
