Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru has dismissed viral claims that he is terminally ill, describing the reports as false and malicious.
In a video shared on social media on Friday, the actor reassured fans that he is in good health and condemned those behind the misleading content.
“I am making this video regarding the very wicked videos circulating about me being sick. I have never been that sick and, by God’s grace, I will never be that sick. I will continue to grow stronger and stronger,” Duru said.
The actor alleged that the videos were created by “merchants of darkness and wickedness” who thrive on spreading negativity and misinformation to generate online traffic.
According to him, such individuals are unhappy with others’ success and progress and deliberately fabricate stories to attract attention on social media.

“That video is the handiwork of merchants of darkness and wicked people who sit and concoct negativity about others. They do not want to see people rise. They do not believe in people’s success. They do all this just to drive traffic. Sadly, this is what social media has become,” he added.
Duru thanked friends, fans, and well-wishers who had reached out to express concern over the reports, assuring them that he remains healthy.
“For friends who have been embarrassed and scared, this is me talking to you. Anything beyond this is from somewhere else. Thank you for your concern and love,” he said.
