Renowned Nigerian celebrity fashion designer Yomi Casual has poured out his heart in a deeply emotional tribute to his late friend like a “brother,” actor Alexx Ekubo.
In a touching message shared on social media, Casual described their bond as one that transcended friendship, lasting over 15 years. “Alex was more than a friend to me — he was family,” he wrote. “We shared dreams, laughter, victories, challenges, and countless memories that created a bond stronger than words can describe.”

Casual hailed Ekubo as a rare gem, a trusted adviser, teacher, loyal friend, and brother in every sense. He recounted how Alex showed up without hesitation in times of need, celebrated with the family in joyful moments, and stood firm through difficult times. Their relationship, he said, was the envy of many, marked by brotherly fights, reconciliations, business hustles, and an unshaken bond that withstood external pressures and rumours.

Expressing deep regret, Casual lamented not being present during Ekubo’s final days. “Alex, this one pain me oooo! If only I knew our time was running out…” He praised the actor for keeping his illness private and facing his battles with dignity and strength.

The designer fondly remembered their calls, playful “polite insults,” the affectionate nickname “BLACK GOAT,” laughter, arguments, and business conversations that defined their brotherhood.
“Thank you for being the brother I chose,” Casual concluded. “Rest peacefully, my dear Ore and brother. Until we meet again, you will never be forgotten.”
The heartfelt tribute has moved many across the Nigerian entertainment industry, highlighting the genuine friendship between the two stars.
