Akwaeke Emezi’s Book “Freshwater” Gets TV Adaptation

Nigerian writer, Akwaeke Emezi is having their debut novel “Freshwater” developed into a TV series by FX.

According to Variety, the series will focus on Ada, a Nigerian student in her final year of college who finds out that she has three spirits living in her subconscious. These spirits eventually take control of her, threatening to ruin her life and sanity.

Akwaeke announced the news on Instagram.
