Alleged members of the late Nollywood actor Alexx Ikenna Ekubo Okwareke’s biological family have come forward with explosive claims regarding his marriage, final days, and burial arrangements, sparking widespread online conversations.
In a series of detailed social media posts, individuals identifying as Ekubo Clinton and David Ekubo accuse the actor’s stepmother of sidelining the Ekubo Okwareke family.
They allege that Alexx’s marriage was secretly arranged to his step-mother’s best friend’s daughter without the biological family’s knowledge or approval.
Clinton claimed the actor gradually lost interest in his biological family events while becoming deeply involved in his stepmother’s family functions.
David Ekubo revealed that Alex passed away on May 11, but the family only learned of his death when it was publicly announced. According to the posts, the burial arrangements were rushed and primarily managed by the step-mother and friends. The family representative who received the body from the mortuary was reportedly not allowed to view it, and the Ekubo family did not approve the wearing of white attire for what they viewed as a celebration of life for the 40-year-old actor.

The alleged relatives further stated that Alex’s only biological sibling and his biological mother, who is still alive, have yet to receive formal updates on the circumstances surrounding his sudden death, which they described as suspicious.
David Ekubo maintained the family had attempted to resolve the issues privately but to no avail. “We are asking for accountability regarding the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of our own,” he wrote, while challenging anyone to refute the claims with evidence.
