Nigerian content creator and online streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has responded to rapper Ycee’s recent criticism, claiming that some celebrities only attack him publicly after failing to secure paid promotional deals with him.

Peller’s response comes amid the ongoing “Olodo Uprising” debate, which has sparked heated discussions across social media over the influence of content creators and the direction of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Speaking during a live session, the TikTok star dismissed the criticism directed at him and insisted that the negativity surrounding his success has not affected his determination to continue building his career.

Peller said: “Your hatred got nothing on me. I swear to God, I’m frustrated. People want me to be thinking. They want me to quit my career. Am I the only one?”

Peller also claimed he was unfamiliar with Ycee beyond his music, suggesting that he had never paid much attention to the rapper personally.

Peller continued: “I know Ycee’s music, but I don’t know his face.”

The content creator further alleged that several celebrities have privately approached him for publicity through his platforms.

According to him, such requests are handled by his management team rather than by himself.

Peller continued: “These celebrities message me for PR, but it’s my management that always replies to them and gives them my rate card. When they see that they can’t pay me because it’s too expensive, they go on podcasts to shade me.”

His comments come shortly after Ycee’s controversial remarks about the rise of less educated entertainers and content creators, which triggered widespread debate and prompted responses from several public figures, including street-hop singer Portable.

As the online exchanges continue, the dispute has evolved beyond a disagreement between two personalities, fuelling a broader conversation about influence, commercial value, education and success in Nigeria’s rapidly changing entertainment landscape.
