Burial Rite for Late actor, Baba Suwe, to commence November 25
The family of late Nigerian comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, better known as Baba Suwe, has revealed his burial arrangements.
According to a statement by his family through his Adesola Omidina, burial rite for Baba Suwe will begin on Thursday at his residence in Ikorodu LGA, Lagos state.
The family further stated that the final funeral ceremony will be announced later.
It read “Burial Rite of Babatunde Omidina ‘Baba Suwe’ will commence at his residence (Elepe) @ Babasuwe’s House on Thursday 11/25/21 @ 10am prompt. Age: 63 years. The final Funeral ceremony will be announced later! Survived by: children, grandchildren, mother and family!”
As earlier reported by eelive.ng, Baba Suwe died on Monday.
The President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan also known as Mr Latin, broke the news of his death.
Mr Latin told Punch “It has been confirmed that Baba Suwe is dead. I just got off the phone with his son who confirmed that the actor is dead. I don’t have much details about his death.”
Also confirming the news of Baba Suwe’s death, his son, Adesola Omidina wrote on Instagram; “This is to announce the sudden death of my father Mr Babatunde Omiidina. The legend and rare gem “ Babasuwe “ 11/22/21 Other details will follow shortly! May your soul rest in perfect peace Dad.”
Born on August 22, 1958, in Inabere Street on Lagos Island where he grew up but hails from Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Omidina began acting in 1971 but came into the limelight after he featured in a movie titled, ‘Omolasan’, a film produced by Obalende.
