#EndSARS: Wizkid Drags Reekado Banks for Promoting Music

Nigerian superstar Wizkid has dragged Reekado Banks for promoting their collaborative track during the #EndSARS protests. Banks was promoting a song titled Omo Ologo, which he and Wizkid had done together.

But Wizkid was not having it. In a now-deleted tweet, Wizkid told Reekado Banks to delete the promo and then called him a fool. In another deleted tweet, he called Reekado Banks a “clout animal”.

Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album was originally scheduled to drop today, but the Joro singer decided to postpone it in order to keep the attention on the #EndSARS protests.

Wizkid, who has been very vocal about the #EndSARS movement, is not shy when it comes to calling out people for whatever reason. About a week ago, Starboy dragged President Buhari and other government officials all over the streets on Twitter.

However, some fans did not view Wizkid’s attack on Reekado Banks as kindly as that against Buhari. In fact, fans began to draw parallels between this incident and Burna Boy’s condescending tweet earlier this year.

There truly was no reason why Wizkid should have been so insulting towards Reekado Banks over a piece of music that he also has rights to; and his rules for when to drop music should not apply to everyone.
