‘Fast X’ dominates Nigerian box office, grossing N32 Million

Universal’s Fast X leads Nigerian box office, grossing ₦32.6 million, with a three-week reign.

Despite a 40% decline in ticket sales from June 2-8, 2023, the action-packed installment continues to dominate.

Since its May 19 debut, the film has earned ₦254.56 million locally, contributing to its global success of over $630 million.

Critics praise Jason Momoa‘s portrayal of antagonist Dante Reyes as the franchise’s best villain yet.

Fast X: Part II is set for release in the second quarter of 2025, riding on the momentum of its predecessor’s triumph.

In second place, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse grosses ₦28 million, accumulating ₦45 million overall.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid secures third place, earning ₦18.6 million and a total of ₦78.9 million.

As Transformers: Rise of the Beasts debuts on June 9, 2023, it remains to be seen if Fast X can maintain its box office dominance.

Nollywood films are absent from the top three, but the upcoming releases of Big Love and AY’s Almajiri could alter the landscape.
