Award-winning Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has opened up about how she finds motivation during difficult moments, revealing that Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry serves as her biggest inspiration.
Akindele disclosed in an interview with Morayo, that whenever she feels low or overwhelmed, she turns to Perry’s page for encouragement, noting that his story continues to strengthen her resolve in the entertainment industry.

“Whenever I’m down like that, I just go through Tyler Perry’s page because that’s my role model. I read about him and actually understudy him,” she said.
Akindele, who has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most successful filmmakers, emphasised the importance of learning from established figures. She noted that Perry’s rise from humble beginnings to becoming a global entertainment powerhouse inspires her to keep pushing boundaries.
