Nigerian Rapper Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor, professionally known as Illbliss, has opened up about his journey to fatherhood, revealing that he and his wife waited eight years before welcoming their first child.
The music star recalled in a recent interview how what seemed like a routine hospital visit turned into a life-changing moment for his family.
“The doctor said everything was fine, but my wife was pregnant. My wife broke down, and I broke down as well. The doctor thought we didn’t want the baby, but he had no clue how long we had waited for that child,” he said.
Illbliss also talked about the birth of their second daughter, calling her another miracle child. He said the baby was born early during the COVID-19 pandemic, after doctors reportedly told them to end the pregnancy because she was not expected to survive.

“Doctors told us to flush and get rid of her because she wouldn’t make it, but we refused. We’re staunch Catholics. We believed God would come through, and God did come through,” he added.
The rapper said that having both of his daughters healthy and doing well is one of the greatest blessings in his life.
Illbliss married his wife, Munachiso, in 2009. After eight years together, they welcomed their first daughter, Sochikaima, in July 2017.
In earlier interviews, he shared that he and his wife thought about adoption before learning they were expecting their first child. He has also talked about how difficult the wait was and the happiness they felt when their children were born.
Illbliss is known for his music and for playing Odogwu Malay in King of Boys. He often talks about family, faith, and being a father. Today, he and his wife have two daughters.
