The daughter of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has dismissed reports claiming that her father has passed away.
The clarification comes after a social media post alleged that the actor had died after being rejected by several hospitals. The post also claimed that he was survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
However, Ogogo’s daughter, Lima, described the report as false and urged bloggers and social media users to stop spreading what she called fake news about her father.
In a post shared on Instagram by her daughter, Lima was quoted as saying, “This is false. Stop spreading fake news. My dad is alive.”

The post was accompanied by a photograph of Ogogo dressed in traditional attire, alongside screenshots of the misleading death report
The clarification has since drawn attention from fans and followers of the veteran actor, with the family making it clear that the reports of his death are untrue.
Ogogo, one of the prominent figures in the Yoruba movie industry, has enjoyed a decades-long career and remains a respected name among Nigerian film audiences.
The family’s response comes amid growing concerns over the spread of unverified celebrity death reports on social media, which often trigger confusion and distress among relatives, colleagues and fans.
