Media personality and film producer Noble Igwe has delivered a sharp rebuttal to Nollywood actor Yul Edochie following the actor’s controversial criticism of former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Edochie had earlier taken to X to slam Obi’s governance record and political prospects, claiming he built nothing substantial in Anambra and questioning his ability to lead Nigeria. The post drew widespread backlash and intense online debate.

In response, Noble Igwe fired back directly at Edochie, focusing on his career as an actor rather than politics. In a widely circulated post, Noble Igwe wrote: “Yul, Small boys that have come after you are winning AMVCA but you have constantly been rooted in YouTube movies. Your mates are producing movies, going to the big screen and you have remained in the same spot for decades.”

The remark has resonated with many netizens, who pointed out the contrast between Yul’s long-standing presence in low-budget YouTube productions and the success of younger colleagues who have broken into mainstream cinema and prestigious awards like the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Also recall that the actor turned politician who is currently supporting the current administration the President Bola Ahmed administration, had thrown a subtle shade at Obi saying that he can’t be Nigeria’s next President highlighting his ambition as dead on arrival
