Nollywood actress Nse Ikpe Etim is currently in self-isolation after returning from the UK; one of the hotspots for the coronavirus outbreak in Europe.
The actress made this known on her Instagram, where she revealed that she had returned from the UK just yesterday morning and was following the NCDC guidelines; despite not showing any symptoms for coronavirus.
She went on to encourage social distancing and the washing of hands. Etim said:
“…I will maintain my isolation and keep people at bay till the coast is clear. I hope everyone is responsible enough to do the same. Avoid public gatherings as much as you can.”
“Wash your hands and sanitize them often. Stock up your home with essentials, while being considerate to others so they too can and most importantly, don’t panic. This too shall pass.”

Besides Etim being in self-isolation, the number of reported coronavirus cases has slowly risen to a dozen people. There may well be many infected people that have gone undiagnosed.
Shockingly, it was recently revealed that a carrier of the coronavirus was in attendance at Saturday’s Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards; failing to follow the NCDC directive to self-isolate and avoid crowds.
Only time will tell the consequences of this action as Nigerians are beginning to clear out pharmacies and supermarkets in a panic-buying frenzy.
