Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has penned a heartfelt birthday tribute to her partner, music executive Paulo Okoye.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress celebrated Paulo as he turned 59, praying for more years of great health, wealth, happiness, and continued success.
In her playful message, Iyabo hinted at plans to “shut down Lagos” for his 60th birthday next year.
Captioning a loved-up video of them, she wrote: “Happy 59th birthday, Obimbimbim, @pauloo2104 Odogwu panranran, Igbo man with swag, exporter and importer, grandpa with the flavor.
“May you always be happy and blessed. More wins, more success. Counting down to 60, shutdown Lagos loading next year 😀😊 Enjoy your day.”
Meanwhile, Iyabo Ojo recently addressed the renewed tension between her colleagues, Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, after being dragged into their ongoing controversy by online critics.
In a detailed statement, Ojo clarified that it would be the “first and last time” she would speak on the issue.
She explained that although she and Akindele share a long-standing friendship, they have had their disagreements. One such moment occurred when she publicly confronted Akindele in defence of Toyin Abraham’s movie, a move she now admits was mishandled. According to her, both actresses later resolved their differences privately and agreed to move forward amicably.
Ojo further revealed that she played a significant role in reconciling the two actresses, who eventually agreed to resolve any future conflicts off-camera rather than online shade.
However, tensions resurfaced in December after Toyin raised concerns about alleged sabotage against her movie in cinemas. Speculations from fans reignited fresh conflict, with some pointing fingers at Akindele.
Expressing disappointment over the lingering drama, Ojo stated that “the sky is big enough for all,” adding that she no longer wishes to be involved in the dispute. She appealed to fans to respect her decision to step back, saying, “At this point, I can’t beg anyone anymore.”
Despite the controversy, Ojo reaffirmed her love for both actresses and shifted focus to her upcoming project, announcing that The Return of Arinzo will premiere nationwide on April 3.
