Veteran actress and activist Hilda Dokubo has strongly criticised President Bola Tinubu’s response to Nigeria’s escalating insecurity, accusing the government of being disconnected from the daily fears of ordinary citizens.

Dokubo, reacting to the President’s recent comments referencing the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac in response to a question on insecurity, said Nigerians are not seeking “sermons, parables, or Sunday school lessons.”

Instead, they want concrete answers on why kidnappings, banditry, and violent attacks continue unchecked.

She lamented ongoing abductions of schoolchildren, raids on communities, farmers abandoning farmlands, and families grieving loved ones lost to violence.

“No amount of scripture can hide that,” Dokubo added. She stressed that the core issue is the government’s ability to protect lives and property.

“The farmers who lose their farmlands daily do not need your distance. They need empathy and action,” she stated.

As the country continues to deal with persistent reports of insecurity, netizens are fuming, expressing public frustration with the administration’s handling of the crisis, with calls for urgent, practical solutions echoing across the country.
