Foremost Nigerian movie actress, Mary Njoku, has reacted to the speculation that social media content creator and TikTok influencer, King Mitchy, reportedly took her own life following her ongoing rift with social activist, VeryDarkMan.

On her Instagram page, the Nigerian movie actress and producer questioned whether our generation truly has the capacity to focus on what’s important in their lives and futures. She pondered whether they had collectively chosen distraction over direction.

On February 28, 2026, the ongoing pandemonium took a dramatic turn after King Mitchy’s management posted on Instagram claiming she had passed away at Prime Care Hospital in Abuja after a critical condition, allegedly from ingesting “Hypo” (bleach) during a TikTok Live amid the whole backlash.

The announcement was greeted with a larger percentage of humour than empathy, and VDM’s satirical “I’m dead too” response.

The hospital has, however, debunked the claim, calling it false and has vowed to take legal action.
