Ciara Talks Pregnancy, Second Marriage in Vogue Interview

Ciara who is expecting her third child is the cover star for the August issue of British Vogue. She speaks about her experience with pregnancy during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as parenting during the lockdown and the importance of having a father figure like her husband, Russell Wilson. 

The singer, 34, and her cute baby bump stunned in a ribbed cream maxi dress for a striking covershoot for British Vogue. 

On going to the hospital for her ultrasound, Ciara said: “I wanted to be really cautious.

“I had a little ziplock bag of gloves for the appointment and then I had my mask. When I went from one room to the other, I switched to a new pair of gloves. 

“When the image of the baby came on the screen; I FaceTimed Russ in the car so that he could see. 

“We women carry the baby, but for my husband, being in the room and listening to the heartbeat in real-time is one of his ways of connecting. For him not to be part of that was a symbol of this time that we’re living through.”

On the struggles of parenting during the lockdown, Ciara, who announced her third pregnancy in January 2020, said:

“That break in the day when you send your kids to school is a luxury.” 

On raising a family with Wilson

Ciara said that Russell Wilson‘s presence as a father figure in her unborn son’s life is of the upmost importance to her. 

“Your son gets to see how his dad treats a woman, and your daughter gets to see how you are loved,” she said. 

“I’m a daddy’s girl and my dad’s love is what saved me in situations in my life; when I could have taken a left turn.”

The Level Up hitmaker is expecting a son with Wilson. It will the couple’s second child, as they also have three-year-old daughter, Sienna. Ciara also shares a six-year-old son with ex-fiance, rapper Future.
