Rape: D’banj Sues Seyitan Babatayo For N1.5bn
The ongoing drama between singer Dapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj and his rape accuser, Seyitan Babatayo has taken a new turn, as the music star sued her for N1.5 billion.
According to a court document seen by eelive.ng, Dbanj is requesting the sum of N1bn for general damages and N500m for punitive and exemplary damages.
“An order directing the defendant to pay the claimant, the sum of N1, 000,000,000.00 (One Billion Naira) only, representing general damages over the untold embarrassment, derision, public ridicule, odium, oloquy, marital disharmony, mental agony and psychological trauma which the defendant’s tweets and publication have caused the claimant,” the document read in part.
In the suit, D’banj through his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, demanded that Seyitan write him “a letter of unreserved apology for the offensive tweets and posts.”
D’banj also prayed the court to grant “an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from further publishing, tweeting or posting offensive libelous statements.”

Recall that some weeks ago, D’banj was called out on social media and accused of rape. After over a week of silence, D’banj responded, saying the rape allegation was false and an embarrassment to his wife.
Following D’banj’s broken of silence, there has been a series of developments on the matter. While the accuser kept unraveling how the Emergency singer raped and intimidated her, D’banj has since been denying the accusation.
