Nollywood star Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw, has opened up about the memorable moment he first met his longtime colleague and on-screen partner Chinedu Ikedieze, a.k.a Aki, describing their encounter as nothing short of a divine connection.
In a recent reflection, Iheme recounted that their paths first crossed in 2001 on a film set, a meeting that would later give rise to one of Nollywood’s most iconic duos. According to him, he had no prior knowledge of Ikedieze before that moment, but an unusual encounter with a market woman had hinted at what was to come.
“I first met Aki on set in 2001 and I knew it was a divine connection. I didn’t know him before then, but a market woman had been telling me about someone who was my size,” he said.
Iheme further explained that their unique pairing immediately caught the attention of filmmakers. He revealed that the producer of the classic film Aki na Ukwa recognised their rare chemistry upon seeing them together and affirmed their potential.

“The producer saw us together and said, ‘Yes, they are unique,”he added.
