Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott has opened up about a lingering regret following the death of her colleague and friend, Alex Ekubo.
Sharing an emotional tribute on Instagram after the actor’s burial, Ufuoma reflected on the memories they shared and expressed sadness over what she wishes she had done differently before his passing.

According to the actress, media personality Uti Nwachukwu first introduced Ekubo to her in December 2020 during a visit to Calabar.
She also recalled later discovering that she had coincidentally celebrated her wedding on Alex’s birthday that same year.
Describing the late actor as a kind-hearted and beautiful soul, Ufuoma revealed that she has spent weeks replaying events in her mind and questioning herself.

One thought, in particular, continues to trouble her: why she did not send him a message a day earlier.
She wrote: “Uti introduced you to me in December 2010 in Calabar. We realised I had gotten married on your birthday that year.
She continued: “You are such a beautiful soul, Ikuku. To everyone who encountered you.Close and from afar. I’ve beaten myself up for weeks now.”
She added: “Why didn’t I send that message one day earlier???Rest now, my beautiful friend. Rest well”.
