Watch teaser: Basketmouth announces ‘Papa Benji’ season 2
Popular Nigerian comedian Basketmouth officially announced the second season of the web series, Papa Benji. He shared the teaser on his YouTube channel. In it, he wrote: “Season 2 of Papa Benji is upon us. Stay tuned folks!!”
The web series’ first season initially premiered with 13 episodes in 2020.
Earlier in the year, the comedian cum film producer took to social media to confirm that the second season was in the works. In his Instagram post, he shared a video of the series’ cast and crew during a script conference for the forthcoming second season. He wrote: “We are currently having a script conference for #PapaBenji Season 2. It’s going to be LIT 🔥.”
The web series’ first season debuted in December 2020. It stars Bethel ‘Senator’ Njoku, Onyebuchi Ojieh, Nedu Wazobia, and also Basketmouth. The comedy web series follows the story of its eponymous character, Papa Benji, the owner of a pepper soup joint. The series also interjects conversations about current issues of social relevance.
