Wizkid to donate ₦100 million to children as tribute to late mother
Wizkid, an international superstar, has stated that he will donate $100 million to children in need.
The artist announced on his Instagram Story that he would begin working with children in the Surulere area of Lagos State tonight, Monday, December 11, 2023.
He stated that he was making the decision in memory of his mother, who died on August 18, 2023.
“₦100M for the kids for Christmas! God bless us all, starts in Surulere tonight. All in Morayo’s name, the love of my life,” his post read.
On August 18, 2023, the singer and his family laid his mother Juliana Morayo Balogun to rest, followed by an extravagant celebration of her life.
Wizkid’s decision to launch his charity in Surulere is a full circle moment for him because he spent his formative years in Lagos state in that local government area. He has now decided to give back to society at such an important time of year.
Wizkid’s Mum passed away on August 18, 2023 and was buried in October.
